By just paying the fine, you plead guilty to the ticket and points will be assessed on your license. This adjudication will appear on your driving record and your insurance may be affected and/or cancelled.

By electing traffic school, you pay for the ticket but points are NOT assessed on your license. This adjudication will be WITHHELD on your driving record and your insurance CANNOT be effected as long as you were not at fault in
a crash.

If you choose to contest the ticket, you must make your request for a hearing in writing (using the Election form below) or in person to the Clerk within 30 days of the date of the citation. You will be notified of your court date.

A traffic payment is due in the Clerk's office within 30 days of receipt of the citation. Payments received, regardless of postmark, or made after the compliance date will incur an additional late fee.

*Even if you are guilty of the offense, you may elect traffic school to keep it off your record, avoid the points and prevent the ticket from raising your insurance rates.
